I've got a 1987 924S Le Mans in black that I've had since 2004. Not everyone's "cup of tea" I know......but it's only had 1 previous owner and has only done 47k miles. Still not worth much though....

My car has the original grey cloth trim with the light green stripes - it's starting to wear in a couple of places (the driver's seat bolster and the driver's doorcard) so I'm looking to try to get hold of some of this material.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get any of this material ("new" or used)?

Thanks

Victor

Can't get the links on my phone, but there are a couple of people on the continent re-manufacturing older Porsche fabrics. There is a link to one in the 944 forum faqs on PCGB, and a recent thread about a new supplier. If you post there I can link the details tomorrow.

Ive seen the grey and turquoise fabric somewhere P-Mac. I could go straight to a manufacturer for 924CGT black and red pinstripe, but I will have to think about this.

The black 924S Le Mans is a cracking car, btw.

Can't help with the fabric but just wanted to say... although they aren't worth much, it doesn't meant they're unloved and I for one like to see an old 924 on the road.

Hi victor, a black lemans was my first porsche, and I loved it, bought for 1500 from the local classifieds in 2003. Great car. Unfortunately it was scrapped in 2007, but I'd changed the tatty interior by then. The seats are long gone but I still have the grey with green pinstripe door cards in my loft, any use to you? By the way, when I spoke to southbound in 2004 at a porsche show he was confident he had some material left, but the £2k retrim price put me off, but you might still be in luck with finding some new material.
Regards, craig

Yes, Werk 924. If Id known that someone else would be able to help then I wouldn't have spent fifteen minutes trawling through Porsche links... Oddly I haven't been able to find the 937 pinstripe fabric!

Southbound haven't been able to help with some of the fabrics for a while now. Werk924 have a fantastic range.

Try Auto Audio in London too. The do a lot of restoration on classic car interiors.

The issue is the unique fabric. Id be surprised if the above firm had ever seen or heard of it, let alone knew where to buy it.

Indeed. Southbound have told owners that several fabrics aren't available to my knowledge, yet they are listed on the Werk site.

Without a pic of the OP's seats it's hard to be sure. He says "grey cloth trim with the light green stripes", in a black 924.

Werk list this one; dark grey with turquoise stripes, 924 exclusive, and my German is pretty limited but it seems to say something about a "black, US model".

Flanell 924S Exklusiv / Le Mans Mod. '88 grau - türkis ( schwarz, U.S. Modell ) 88,- € / lfm

That's as near as I can get to what he's looking for. If it's not the right one then I'd be needing to see pictures, or we could just suggest trim the whole thing in black and be done with it!

Thats the right fabric, Id bet my 2.7l on it. Black Le Mans models had early style manual sports seats, with grey flannel and torquouise pinstripes. They had torquouise trim on 6" front and 7" rear 15" telephone dials wheels and the full power 1988 engine.

Black velour has white pinstripes, remember? biggrin

Here you go, these are my door cards from my dead lemans that I fished out my loft earlier. It's a light grey with thin green pinstripe. Lovely.

Its turquouise, not green. It matches the turquouise lacquer on the wheel rims. It can be seen clearly in this picture, particularly the piping.
