The DeVere Grand Harbour is a 4 star hotel that has a secure car park, although it's open (to walk through etc) but has a fence and barrier

Town or Country in Oxford street will hire out an apartment in South Western House on a Hotel-esque basis (short term / couple of nights / whatever). You will get access to the secure gated pen.

As described here there is a public car park under Jury's Inn at Charlotte Place. I don't think that many locals realise it's still there.

I don't believe that you will find any city centre hotels with car parks that exclude public access. If you're that worried you might be better off finding a B&B with off road parking, or using an out of centre hotel and the bus.

There is a Hilton Hotel at the very end of the M3. It's ~2.5 miles out of the city but has good bus links along The Avenue. The hotel has it's own parking and is in it's own cul-de-sac, no reason for anyone to pass who isn't using the hotel.

Thanks for all the replies and offer of a space Greg

Have stayed with T&C previously and no complaints but need an early dash in the morning as I will be chasing the ferry and from memory have to return keys to a remote location

need to be near city centre as meeting a few guys from our Romsey office for a beer

looks like Jurys inn might be favorite

Thanks again
