Parking ticket in Glasgow, advice needed
Discussion
Hi all,
Parked this morning in the street behind the Allen Glen campus for City of Glasgow college, paid the £2 for full time coverage. Machine identity 600..
Come near lunch and with college class finishing early, we went to China Buffet King, ( i know, i know)
Moved car to nearby the restaurant as the ticket was still valid till 1.08pm. Parked up with ticket on drivers window and went for lunch.
Came back at 1pm to car and i have a parking ticket, stating i've broke barking contravention 06, at 12.12, which is parking without a valid ticket or voucher..
I'm wondering if my ticket bought from behind college, is useable for the new place i parked?
Does anyone know if that's the case, so i can appeal or do i need to pay my £30 and be more careful in future?

Appeal anyway
check to see if the same price applies at both venues. If so cant see their point. Check the signs at the machines to see if any prohibition
Plan B. burn all the machines. Set Alfie on attack mode on all traffic attendants and get them to agree with you or they will be licked relentlessly by Alfie!

Considering it costs a fortune in City centre 60p for 12min and by sound of £2 for morning you were in different zone
Sorry

I got done a few years back in Glasgow for having my back wheel touching a striped double yellow at the end of the disabled row of spaces in George Street near the square. I had left a gap to the adapted vehicle in front of me to allow their wheelchair ramp to fold out as per the notice on their tailgate...still got ticketed and no let off. I paid my £15 by phone prompt and have viewed it as payment for your education.
Suck it up!
Suck it up!Yeah, i paid the £2 for 4 hours, the zone was in the housing area to the right of the bus station, ( if looking at the bus station from Queens St ) St Mungo avenue.
I parked on West Nile street for just over an hour. Car was facing down hill with ticket on drivers window.
Ticket expired at 1.08, parking ticket issued at 12.12.

If you don't pay it you will likely get scary letters that would make the average Joe very........ well scared.
Once they weigh up the cost of pursuing you, the scary letters will cease!
Carry on
No It is changed days. In the past that worked, but since they changed this to a civil as opposed to a criminal matter the fines are recoverable by civil diligence! therefore they can just go and record these and get a summary warrant which you can only prevent by seeking court orders. In my view this system is abused by the ticket collectors as they just simply refuse appeals and then process. The grounds for appeal are prescribed by reg/ statute and are limited. My recent experience is that they simply chase and pursue and disregard nearly everything said to them.Once they weigh up the cost of pursuing you, the scary letters will cease!
Carry on

Appeal, challenge and get your facts right before doing so as have limited time as do they! As they have limited time they tend to refuse all appeals. If they miss the deadline then the ticket falls. I had to sue GDC to get a uplift fee returned! The comment made by the 'official' from GDC after that was " In future I am just going to refuse every appeal as soon as it comes in. Lesson Learned'!
However, I think there is a general feeling that AJM should be arrested and charged by you, for crimes against hair style! I promise to defend him but loose!

Hahahaha nice one!
This was my very recent civil experience Paul, but people can make their own choices
The problem is that a summary warrant is the equivalent of a court order and may affect your credit rating. Secondly, if you have a private address in a nice area the Sheriff Officers know they will get paid and will 'select' those they seek to enforce. My No3 Daughter recently had to pay £125 or more for a ticket from Edinburgh which she wasnt due to pay, but 'forgot' to appeal. AS my neighbour said, ' A very polite well dressed young man was looking for No3 baby'. he thought was a BF!
My advice is appeal or pay up as unless you feel VEERY strongly about it, going to court to redress this is crazy. I am not sure if there is any shortcut procedure to recall a summary warrant? I had a look, but amazingly was preoccupied by work, rather than spending hours researching this for errant daughters!
