Garmin 500 didn't record ride!

Out today first 4 miles alll normal then no speed and milage not going up then intermittent flashes of speed but no download at end!

Anybody had that kind of problem with Garmin?

My Forerunner 910xt had a fit a couple of days ago - negative height reading, wouldn't pick up any satellites, I left it at home after several attempts at re-setting it - fine today on a run though.

My mobile based SportyPal Pro used to like waiting until I was feeling energetic and blasted out at full speed only to crash and not record anything. I usually didn't realise until at least a mile into the run/cycle - ARGHHH!!!

guessing youre using the cadence sensor which has a dead battery??

Happened to me after 2y
Cadence sensor battery snuffed it, Google told me it uses this for speed and distance in preference to GPS which actually made sense

I use the Garmin on other bikes with no sensors and works fine?

Backup your data first, then do an auto-locate followed by a factory reset, then restore your original data

That's because its not trying to use the cadence/speed sensor for the speed reading. If it can pick up the cadence/speed sensor it will try and use it for speed even if the battery is low (I had exactly the same issue)
