Insurance Refund?

I've finally bought my own plate. I've just informed my insurer (online) and they're refunding me £16. Very nice but does anyone know why? I was expecting a charge, which is what they've have wanted if I did it over the phone.

It's because it is a FACT that people with private plates on their cars are better and safer drivers than those without.

They are better looking too apparently, massively reduces the risk of a crash by £16.

I have never had one.
