My speed has a new behaviour. It goes 20mph faster with the lights and heater on, yet seems no quicker at all.

Weird - any ideas?

Mine too.

I used to worry about it.

Now i don't.

There's probably an earth somewhere that you can tighten / loosen / lubricate / dry off / waggle upwards / wiggle downward / twist clockwise / disconnect / reconnect or something. But I don't know and I no longer care.

It was the infamous yellow connector on mine that caused those symptoms.

When do take delivery of the flux-capacitor? Or have you already sourced one?

I do have a fkd caterpillar but it's not up to much. Funny thing is I was on the Late, Late Breakfast Show once and starred in a remake sketch of the Back to the Future Films!

Seriously for a moment regardless of voltage the speedo is a pretty crappy electronic design.
After I had a new speedo made at not very speedy cables I never had a problem again, even when the voltmeter was sulking. The lcd odometer and trip meter was a bonus. Speedy's were right and proper and set the mileage of the new speedo the same as the old one - you had to send your existing one in as they re used the speedo needle.

GREAT SCOTT STEVE!

Does this only happen at night in thunderstorms?
Does the road behind you catch fire?

You don't get any of this with an S1 you know. You can't even see the speed, it's hidden by the steering wheel.

Mine too, have posted obout this before, even after cleaning and replacing various earth cables my speedo still jumps up with either lights on, radiator cooling fan cutting in, heater, wipers etc.
I just live with it now also with satnavs being so cheap I tend to use this to keep an eye on my speed.
