I was sitting in the pub a short time ago with a good friend and we had one of those conversations about what we had done with our lives up to this point (I’m only 24 FFS!!) and what else we could do we could do with the rest of our lives.

Having split up with my fiancé (BH) and sold our house I am at a stage in my life where I have no-one to answer to and so I want to maximise the amount of experiences I can have in my life!!! So I decided to write down a list of 50 things I would like to have experienced by the time I am 30.

Therefore, I am asking the members of this site to give me their input. What would you suggest I cannot leave out on my list? Are there things you’ve done that you highly recommend? They don’t all have to be wild large scales things just things you have enjoyed!

The only rules are:

1. I only earn average wages so a trip to the moon is out and numerous foreign holidays a year won’t be agreed by my boss!
2. I want to be able to take photographic records of each experience and be able to show others, including my Mum, so no suggestions of large scale orgies!
3. I need to be able to have a chance at completing them. Yes, I would love to shag two blonde sisters but without blind luck and copious amounts of alcohol or money it is not going to happen!

My list currently includes the “usual”, such as bungee jumping and sky-diving but I would like your input please. Furthermore, I am planning a holiday to New Zealand for three weeks near the end of the year so things that tie in with that would be good.

Thanks in advance, Nigel

I have traveled quite a lot in Thailand but i have never done the full tour as have a few of my good friends , that is start off in India ,then Nepal
Vietnam , Cambodia , Thailand , Malaysia , and then down to Ozz and NZ , and i really regret not doing it , i can not do it now due to business interests but friend who have done it come back raving about it ,i know how 2 or 3 weeks on the islands of Thailand make me feel so 3-4 months can only be a better thing .

Do it now before you end up like me and can not or will not because of circumstances

sounds like you're having a midlife crisis mate!, don't worry, I had one 2 years ago (I'm 22) and decided to change my life... so far things are on track.
#1 has to be buy a TVR, preferably a no-compromises ME-mobile like a Griff or a Tuscan... that'll definitely help ya with the 2-blonde sisters bit, as well as providing hours of tyre-shredding fun
Don't nkow why you are coming to NZ, I can't wait to get outta here!
hehe but seriously, I live in Chch New Zealand and I'm always keen to meet fellow Pistonheads (there ar so few of us on this side of the world) so if you need a place to stay in Christchurch you're more than welcome, just drop me an e-mail : lotus_esprit_350@hotmail.com .

I'll keep an eye out and see if I can think of any things to add to your list.
I'll start it off #50 Eat a REAL cornish pastie (it's the food of the gods don't you know? )

Have you been Scuba Diving? If you haven't then getting your diving license is one of your list items. If you have or when you get your license you should go diving off Sipadan Island in Malaysia. Quite simply the most amazing diving experience anywhere in the world.

Crystal clear water with a 600m drop off just 10m from the shore. Hammer head sharks, green turtles and swirling shoals of tropical fish. Totally amazing and, while not being super cheap, is certainly affordable and an achievable goal.

Go to Le Mans in 2003.

Lost my Le Mans cherry this year. Le Mans lives up to the hype.

Erm, we've got a couple of jet fighters you can have a go in. www.hawkerhunter.co.uk definitely be good for a laugh, but a fair few squids per second unfortunately.

Also, get driven by a good racing driver whos trying a bit around a good circuit in a good sports car - a real eye opener...!

The 2 sisters bit - been there done that, not all it's cracked up to be. The most degrading thing I've ever been involved in bar none. I was actually going out with one of them and it made for uncomfortable scenes whenever her sister was about after that

If you ever get to Colorado have a drive up to the top of Pike's peak (14,000 plus ft) Amazing seeing the trees end as you cross the tree line then getting to the top and looking down above the clouds.

If you've never been, do a road trip in the states.

There are agencies that deal in delivering peoples cars who have moved long distance. A mate of mine did this many years ago. He wanted to drive from NY to California. Arrived in NY told the guy what he wanted to do... bloke said wouldn't you prefer to go to Florida... mate said no California... Bloke said *wink* are you sure you don't want to go to florida.. mate said (getting a bit cheesed off) Nooo California... Bloke said fair enough, and handed him the keys to a honda legend. Mate said whats the big deal with Florida... Bloke said I've got a 308GTB thats got to go to Miami... DOH!

Any way this was a few years ago, but its got to be a cheap way of seeing the country.

Overtaking you whilst you are doing it!

I'm at least one Guardian reader who it wouldn't piss off.

At your age, young man....

Work abroad. Really. Do it. Its a great experience. I lived in Australia for a year or so and did the same in the United States.

Not only do you earn some money (may not be a lot!) but you get to immerse yourself in another culture. Its a life experience you only have the chance to do when young and single...well worth it.

Other peoples ideas will never live up to your own, but saying that, listen to all and make up yer own.

Learn to fly a helicopter, at least until you can fly it solo.

Go jetboating in new zealand while you are there.

#1 jet boating up the gorges in NZ is a must for a truly bottom clenching experience. There are "package" deals you can get whereby you do bungee jump, jetboat and then para-jump all in one day. People who've done it swear by it and during it I shouldn't wonder!!

#2 Is gaining your Brown Wings but I suspect that your mum might find the pictures of that a tad uncomfortable......!!
