Knockhill today
Discussion
Was up at Knockhill today, was a bit concerned by my front left shock lacking fluid but the car still performed well,
For those that know Knockhill, first session i was hitting 60s laps, second hit 58.6, third session 56.8 then last session done a 55.6 lap, mega chuffed with that and the car having to cope with a lack of damping. Looks like ill be very competitive in class B next month when the SLS series kicks off.
Here's a clip from a guy who was out in his caterham R400, my car in shot at the start and then the interesting bit is from 17:00, some flames and a lock up behind a corsa as its engine blew up, ill upload my own vid tomorrow of passing a GTR sideways coming out of Clarks, scary stuff! Lol

I didn't get any understeer at all at really, just the odd bit of oversteer because i was unsettling the car over kerbs. I think I've cracked how to really drive the thing now, pretty sure I'd get into the 54s laps at KH, found a comparisson for you southerners, - the BTCC qualifying lap record is 52.999s by Tom Chilton in 2011, so yesterday was only 2.6s off that when I got a clear lap, nae bad

Looks great Graham , how did the car feel ? Did you get any mid corner understeer ? I had a small amount at Silverstone last week but I think it was caused by not getting front tyres up to temp ? Do you know what temp you were getting the Michelins up too ?

If you were repeatedly doing that, it was probably the compromise between road car and race car, I.E. not enough front camberTux
Didn't check the Pbox before I turned it off but a quick glance looked to be 130mph, braking for the hairpin is fun, locking all 4 to get it down to 30, the heat from my brakes actually heated up my alloy wheels to the point where I couldn't keep my hand on one for more than a few seconds near the centre.
Here is my lap data from Saturday which was interesting, Me in my car V's Fiona Kindness in her R32 GTR Time attack car back in 2010, this girl is quick! Based on splits I had a predicted lap of 55.32 but actual lap of 55.63.

Looks like I need to man up when it comes to braking for the hairpin as that cost me 0.5s but otherwise looks good.
Lat G of 1.25max
Long G of 0.70max
Vmax of 133mph

Graham, it sounds like u should be In a lower gear at the corner before the straight. However it does mean another gear change so may not be worth it.
On your best lap u did have a bit of spin and wobble coming out of a corner and that would have cost u some time.
Great driving though.
