Hi,

Was just curious what OPCs hand out for courtesy vehicles nowadays. Would hoping for a 991 if handing in a 997 for work be a bit off the mark or is it kias haha? What have you guys been given?

It's always worth booking well in advance and then requesting a specific model from their fleet.

I'll phone them back up and ask what they have, a month should be sufficient for a good selection

I got a very nice but very dull euro box. I didn't even have a clue wha make it was. As I was staying overnight I booked into a local hotel, when I asked where I was to park the first thing the girl on reception asked for was the reg no. I have no idea was the reply, not a problem she said, what make is your vehicle, that will do. No idea I informed her.
At this point I think she thought me a little weird.

OPC had gone round the car(whatever it was) pointing out the only fault they could find (the slightest blemish on one alloy). I couldn't stop thinking about that damn blemish, I mean usually a rental has a ding or two already when you pick it up.
A couple of hours later whilst sliding backwards down a 1 in 4 hill in black ice with brakes locked and a sheer drop to the near side, all I could think of was how the hell was this going to end, and with just a blemish to an alloy.

Tops you may get a boxster but could be a c class merc.

991? I dont think that happens in a strictly courtesy car situation.

Left my 2010 Cayman for a "Health Check" and was givena 2012 997 Turbo S to play with for an hour. Top service.

Only yesterday I was given a demo 991 C4S by Porsche Edinburgh when I put my 996 Turbo S in for a major service. They gave me it for the 2 days that they required to do the work. I can't that the service guy enough, phoned him last week inquiring if they could fit the work in, and he informed the work was possible, but no courtesy car available. 1 Hour later phoned me back telling me he had asked the sales team if they had anything available and they offered the C4S. Top man!!

I Can't recommend them enough!! Service prices now reduced to £749 for major including spark plus, and £100 for brake fluid change.

Restored the faith for me!

Sounds like luck of the draw there, not bad. Think it would be the case of- keep the turbo for another week at the centre to check for battery drain lol

It was much more refined and really streets ahead in terms of comfort and finesse, but I missed the torque/thrust of the Turbo. I have never driven a non turbo 911 before so I found it took a lot of RPM to make it perform but sounded really good when in sport mode and giving it plenty!

To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed for what is a 95K car! To make a fair comparison, I will try and get a new 991 Turbo out next time I go to them!!smile

Think it depends on the dealership ownership.

Using Reading, they gave me a choice of Porsches on booking.

Now with Bournemouth as my local it's an Audi A1! frown

I have had Boxsters three times, a rental Merc as the courtesy car was late being returned, a brand new 997 C4S, GTS and a 991.

My 997.2 C2s went in to OPEC Glasgow for a few days to sort out locking fault. Panamera diesel make for a very good experience as a courtesy car...
