Search facility is down, but I seem to remember seeing a thread or two about replacement hood kits. Are there decent quality kits out there and has anyone got any experience of them? Cheers

No experience personally - just a screen replacement in the end, but I did some research and I found a lot of advice explaining how difficult it is to get an off the shelf item to fit properly, i.e. you can end up with ripples as the body shells aren't identical. Sounded logical to me but as I said, i ended up with just a screen replacement as the the rest was in good condition.

The recommendations I received were to get tailored made, fitted to the car for a much better guaranteed fit.

Hope that helps.

I can recall Mike (Philpot) telling us that he had bought a roof and had it professionally fitted.

I'm sure he will clarify soon....

"New old stock" bought from Hexham horseless Carriage (ex TVR main dealers I believe) about a year ago and fitted by Davethetrimmer.

I'll have a go at most things but "bottled out" of a full hood re-fit and roof panels. Metal or fibreglass cut too much and you can stick a bit back on, fabric's not quite the same !

Thanks all. I think a trip to the trimmers might be in order then. Out of interest, what am I looking at (ball park) for new rear section/screen and refurbished panels do you think?

Cheers

If your roof just looks scruffy the Renovo product range can improve things way beyond you would think possible.

Have been told that you can't get hold of the rubbers that run along the tops of the windows... Is this so? Anyone found an effective replacement product?

Cheers all for your help

Chris of D & C Trim in Blackpool recently supplied me with some of the 'fat girl with pigtails riding a bike' profile. I spoke to him at the Neil Garner TVR Open Day, really helpful, so get in touch with him.
I'd been searching for some of this for ages with no success.
