Clark Motorsport (Kintore) no more?
Discussion
I'm hearing various rumours that Clark Motorsport have been bought out by Jim Reid Car Sales. Any truth to this?
Do you know if it'll still be the same guys running it? I always found them very helpful and knowledgeable (especially Ewen) from the various work they did on my M3 and now the S2000. Best alignment facilities around Aberdeen.
It'll be a real blow...

Yeah Jim Reid has taken over but it's pretty much business as usual, they'll work on absolutely anything as CM did and as far as I'm aware Ewen is still there as well as the same mechanics.
I don't see it as a bad thing really as Jim is a very switched on guy with a real determination for good customer service

Yeah, it was a sad day when i heard Clark motorsport was no longer, always felt in safe hands whenever my car was in there. I know clarks still exist as a parts company but as they are not in charge of the workshop anymore that to me is a worry.
Dont think id trust these guys the same...

Yes, they've been taken over by Jim Reid, but when Ewen told me about it he went to lengths to assure me the quality of work would be the same. The same mechanics are still there, it's just that Jim Reid was looking for a workshop, Clark Motorsport still exist and Ewen still works there, just that they no longer run the workshop, they sell performance parts, give advice on tuning, stuff like that.
I haven't used them since the change over in April but I'd have no problem doing so again.

I was in past this week, and as others have said Ewen is still running the performance parts side of the business, as usual, cracking service and great wealth of knowledge,
not quite sure what direction the workshop side of the business will go but barry etc. are still there, one thing is for sure though the performance parts side is pretty safe with Ewen at the helm.
cracking guy with a great knowledge of what he does.

I'm puzzled. You post a link to a thread, on another forum, with a link back to this one.
In that link, some people apparently agree that a chap on the reception desk of this company isn't to their liking ... but agree that everything is fine in the workshop.
All that and the fact that this is your first and only post on PH really does mystify me.
I'm baffled.
Am I missing something?
Cheers,
Eric

Ooh, another first time poster!
Please provide a considered account of your experience with this organsiation. I'll read it, take stock and I won't be "confused / puzzled / baffled".
We'll all be happy then. Can you do that?

I used CM when Ewen was running the show under Graeme and Terry since they opened. Very personal treatment and always catered to my last minute/ urgent issues. I am sure many car enthusiasts here will agree with me that when your pride and joy is not well, you just want to get it sorted out ASAP and CM used to be able to do that no matter how busy they were. Lets just say that it is now different. Even though Barry and Harvey still work there, they don't call the shots anymore. Just my 2p worth.
