I see so many Cayenne's on the road and rarely a Panamera.

If you were buying as a family car, 3 years old at £50k, Panamera or Cayenne. Must compare like for like i.e. diesel vs diesel. We could even forecast at 5 years old at £35k each etc, whatever your usual.

The Panamera seems so much more desirable. And yet... it's such a niche product, and impractical alongside the Cayenne. If I had to be the one trying to sell it after I was done with it, the Cayenne seems like a better bet.

Not a fan of the Panameras looks at all, but then again the Cayenne isn't exactly a thing of beauty itself. Would take the Panamera out of the two though.

Neither - BMW 530d £8-10k, 911 C2S Gen 2 £40-45k.

Why compromise smile

(Just deleted the snarky comments I was about to make about Panameras and Cayennes). Each to their own, but neither for me.

Not want you want to hear, but neither. Both capable yes, but too brash and ugly for my taste.

73% of votes for the Panamera out of 41. I guess the price difference in reality is why there are so many more Cayenne's (2009+) on the road. This makes the Panamera seem more special/exclusive also.

The rear seats in 2 adult config may put a lot of buyers off instead of a bench layout for 3 in the back, which the Cayenne has.

Dog having a poo versus the resultant pile of excrement?

Er, that will be the incipient then.

If you had a family and a dog. Which would you choose?

I have just a dog and chose the Cayenne.

The Cayenne might be classed as a SUV, but it simply doesn't drive like one and this is why it has got my vote on here and with my wallet. It drives so well that you soon forget that it's a 2.5 ton vehicle. It really does so many tasks very well, plus has room for three in the back and a good size boot.

Panny is also nice but you loose a rear seat, and IMO don't really gain anything over the Cayenne.

I have a series 1 Cayenne and always thought they were hideous looking when they were released.

Similarly, I think the VW version of the new Cayenne is a much nicer looking car, I really dont know what the thinking was with the wheel arch liners on the Cayenne...

BUT, (if I could afford them) out of the two I would have the Panamera - something about its road presence when viewed in the flesh is very appealing!
