Right then guys. I am currently chewing over whether to upgrade my 997 to a 991 or not. The thought has now crossed my mind that I could get a nice 997 Turbo for similar money.

I cant work out whether I would have more fun in the 991 or 997 Turbo and which would feel more special.

Any thoughts? I should probably go and drive both I guess....

4S for me. The new car is enough of a step up to make the choice easy. And more than fast enough.

Doesn't the 991 log every problem/issue/fault etc and stamp it with your GPS co-ordinates?

If so, that would answer it for me!

As said above, you'd really need to try both and decide.

Personally, a new 991 C4S looks very expensive at £100k+, whereas a 997 Turbo 'S' is a flagship model with all the toys and looks very good value at £85k(ish).

But you can get an almost new 4S for less than £85k.

Whereas Turbo S are at least 2 years older and much higher miles.

Totally different cars... If you are thinking towards a slower NA, don't try the Turbo. The NA 991 will feel slow and non inspiring after the Turbo. Have though a funny feeling the 991 GT3 will be a blast ;-)

Had same issue, have (had) the turbo, went with intention of getting a turbo S. Went 991 instead, new car has moved game on. Certainly didn't feeling lacking, linear power delivery and very sure footed. Pick up of new porker is a shade over 14hours away driving

Well I've been very luck to drive the new c4s and my dad has a turbo s. I've got a 981s and although the c4s is a brilliant brilliant car it didn't really make want to pay another 50k over my boxster. The turbo s on the other hand is a truly Special car. It has something the c4s can't match. I now have a turbo itch that needs scratching hehe

I think that probably sums up my current thinking. I drove a 2S at the porsche experience day and it did feel amazing compared to the 997 4S. I do wonder though if the Turbo would have more of a feeling about it.

Sounds like some test driving needs to happen!!
