Motability or the like
Discussion
Depends if its motab car, or wheelchair access. I work alongside http://www.atlasconversions.co.uk/wheelchair-vehic...
if thats what your after?

Thanks for the replies gents.
Access required for powered chair with occupant.
Diesel, manual 1.8 - 2.0.
Probably needs room for two other occupants including driver.
Would prefer front position for chair if possible.
Not worried too much if new or used, but my parents do have worries over maintenance with the used option.

Ok, have a little look over Atlas' website, see if there is anything that takes your fancy. A lot of their Kangoo/Caddy conversions are chair in the rear, which is a bit of a pain, sits between the two rear seats, so still feels like a normal car.
To get a front chair mounting, your normally looking at Transporters, and occasionally the larger of the renault/citroen/pug vans, made into minibus style vehicles.
What sort of budget are they looking at? If they have higher rate mobility, are they aware they can use that as payment on an HP policy, with guarunteed acceptance through motab?

How would they qualify for higher rate mobility? If its means tested then Im guessing they wouldnt qualify.
She has looked at Motability, although unsure where or how. Sounded to me like a lease purchase whereby they had to drop £12k ish and then had a monthly payment of over £200. When my Father dies the car goes back and my Mother would be left with no vehicle. This seems very unsatisfactory if I understood correctly.
So to this end I would think purchase would be a better option with a budget of £10k-15k although the cheaper the better obviously!
They has been offered a Fiat Doblo but I'm not sure about this but that maybe becasue I'm living in the dark ages! Fiats to me have always been a little unreliable......?
