Answers:
1) Depends on how you drive them and if you plan on doing any trackdays. Wear and tear will increase if you do, but a well tracked car can be just as reliable as a road only car providing it's been regularly serviced.
2) Like any car, it varies. In general, they are very reliable and spares are pretty cheap, you tend to get stung by labour costs from dealers more than anything. If you like tinkering though...bonus!

Depends compared to what? A performance car will be expensive to run/maintain. Rough guide 2 services a year £200+ per service, NB get a dealer to service double that figure.
Reliability of Lotus is good in my experience the "loads of trouble usually serious" joke is wearing thin on the modern car. If thye car is well looked after, then it should be fine.
