To all 911 drivers. .. if you pass a Cayman (or Boxster) on the opersite side of the road, do you acknowledge them or do you save that just for other 911s?

I wave at other 911s, but I rarely see them. 996/7s a plenty, but very few 911s.

I wave at all Porsche drivers when safe to do so, but as the driver of a 996 C4S Tip Cab - I'm not a proper Porsche driver anyway apparently smile

I don't usually bother waving at boxster drivers as they are usually too busy checking their hair or makeup in the visor mirror.

I hate to say it but I rarely wave, the majority of porka drivers in the area regardless of model are not car enthusiasts and own them purely as an aesthetic, if I was likely to pass another enthusiast they would probably make the same assumption about me

The only part of a 996/7 that '911' drivers see is thier fast dissapearing exhaust pipes !!

To the OP - please don't buy a 911 on the basis other Pork drivers may wave at you. You'll be very disappointed.
ETA: only wave I've had in my Cayman was from an F430 driver

Not many waves but plenty of nods, more so at a weekend, I think it's more likely to get a nod from an enthusiast on a weekend hoon.

People at the petrol station just turn away except the kids who point and smile and give the thumbs up, ahh the innocence...

Having grown up driving VW Beetles, I automatically lift a couple of fingers off the wheel as a little 'hello' when I see one driving the other way.

I tend to do it when driving the 911 too but I always feel a bit of a 2@ when its not acknowledged by the other driver.

I do, but seldom get a reply. I'm still waiting (after 10 months) to come across another 991 Cab!

Driving a pre 89 911 Supersport(proper 911) I don't see many other drivers but I'm sure when a 996 997 goes past the other way the driver makes a conscious effort to turn the other way.....wierd really as I'd have thought that if you like 911's then u like 911's.
