Flat Battery (again)

The battery in my 1997 993 loses its charge 24 hours after being fully charged, even if the alarm/immobilizer is not on. Its not the battery as I have changed it 3 times in the past three years. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Does it lose its charge if it's left disconnected for 24 hours?

I charge overnight using battery charger - flat after 24 hours of standing still. The battery only loses its charge when connected.

You need to figure if you have a high draing, dodgy battery or charging system.

Yes wasn't sure if car had been used or not - but assuming still, then could be dodgy earth?

You need to start isolating circuits and when doing so see if the battery voltage increases. This might tell you where the drain is.

I have a similar problem but the battery discharges after 3-5 days. Also the car will only start from cold or near cold- which makes filling with petrol a lengthy and embarrassing process. Its had new alternator but that hasn't done anything. It is now going to have the Earth changed (if that is the correct terminology). I'll let you know on Saturday if the problem is sorted.
