Hello, can anyone help with my newbie questions?

What is the code for the hard back sports seats? The car i am looking at has them but the code on the info i have is p77 - leather sports seats are these the hard back ones?

It also has i have been told the PSE, however this was not on the car when new and the sport button does not work to change the noise, in fact the sport button does not work at all but the dealer has told me this could of been modified to allow exhaust loud but smooth throttle map and keep the pasm seperate? How can i tell if it is the PSE or just some exhaust mod, has the larger inner exits and the other 2 are dummys

It has the sport chrono package plus / nav / cdc 4 / 19" Carrera Classic / Ocean Blue Full Leather / cruise control / coloured centres / rear wiper / top tinted windscreen as cost options when new

Cheers

To check if its a proper PSE pop your head underneath the back of the car and look for the valves and operating cables.

the other thing is apparently the HPI shows a purchase price of £75k, but what i have from Porsche is not that, it does show a £4975.79 discount and a fuel credit but still that would not be £75K?

One quick check you could do is pop the engine cover and look for a small brown plug that goes into the solenoid (usually on the right hand side of the engine) - you really can't miss it. If it has the brown plug, you have PSE.

Sport button means that it comes with Sports Chrono (i.e. you should see a lap timer clock on top of the dash). No clock probably means the button is a dummy.

so the pse is part of the sport chrono plus?

It has the sport chrono plus yes, i was expecting the pse to be a separate code thats all, trying to do my homework as much as poss.

Car has been taken off his site now as i have a refundable holding deposit on it, he is bringing it down to Bmth for an inspection at JMG, i want to get it on their maintenance plan so all will need to be well before they will accept it, it is a bit tatty on the outside looks like it has been enjoyed.

Cheers Paddy will have a look

It has PASM button + sport button but like i say sport button not doing anything, exhaust always on loud, throttle map on the smoother map, i have been told the owner may of done this on purpose, but hopefully JMG can clarify on Thursday.

Just been told of another car for a bit more money with less miles but in exceptional condition, going to find out more tomorrow. If the car i am having inspected is sound underneath though and just needs a bit of TLC thats okay, will be interesting to see what the PPI throws up

The PSE pipes are slightly different than the normal ones - the outer-most PSE pipes are slightly bigger than the inner pipes. An easy way of checking.

A common PSE mod is to unplug the brown solenoid in the engine bay as the exhaust valves close between 28-40is mph for some absurd drive by noise regulations. As a result, the valves are always open and would explain the lack of noise difference when the sport button is pressed.

Here's a quick reference pic for the PSE exhaust sizes:

Yep looks just like that cheers, outer pipes are pretty dirty, the whole car needs a good clean, inner like new so they must be dummy pipes with the PSE smile
