OK, I know there is much debate on here regarding GT3 pricing now the 991 has shown its hand. I'd like to get a consensus on specific model price movement. Current 997.2 RS's are floating around the 80K (ish) mark, most likely they will head south (makes economic sense with new model release) my question is by how much? These will definitely become the coveted last of an analogue breed so in time will become collectors, but what will be the price dip before the firm price hold...

Please discuss! smile

This is such a contentious subject but I think the price will remain stable for a while..... until the mags get hold of the 991 GT3 and put it through their tests then the price of the 997.X GT3's will go either up or down biggrin

They will be stable for a while - the 991GT3 weighs £110-120k once specced and the RS will almost certainly be a £130-140k item and that is a big step from the 997 market. After that : who knows, it is just grounds for speculation. I honestly believe that the RS 4.0 ultimately going to be the safe place to put money in the really long term, but whether it is investment grade right now would depend on what you could get one for. I reckon that anyone who got one from new is safe though.

The £89k one is extremely low spec which is probably why it hasn't sold in several months unless someone knows differently?

The off season for selling them is November to spring. Spring only seems to have happened this week, so that is likely part of it...

That's my guess too as spec is quite poverty...no Sat Nav, no phone/Bluetooth, no front lift, no Chrono Plus, no dashes of carbon (sills, interior), no sound package, but has "right seats and brakes" IMHO...so pretty stripped out and potentially a good track focused car for someone, but its been for sale now for 6mths. Hate it when people on here cast assertions about why something hasn't sold, with zero knowledge, but everything has a point at which it will sell, and I'm sure if it checks out in all the other areas of ECU, service schedule, and original panels/paint then it will sell eventually, but when compared with spec of Redline car it looks expensive, and I would do a deal on that one first Roger if you were feeling "cheeky" ;-)

I don't think so as the guy hates me because I took the trouble to investigate and the situation with the Redline car is as follows. It is being sold by a guy called Myles who advertised it as 'private' but is in fact a dealer who bought it off a dealer who bought it off a dealer [ferrari] and because he hasn't been able to sell it himself has passed it on to yet another dealer [Redline]. This car has also been in a porsche centre where it failed to sell[by second dealer I think]. The last owner told me he got £74k for it in p/ex and nothing has been done to it the last I heard. Having missed the grey and black one in Scotland for the second time which went for £90k with everything on it and 2011 car with 2900 miles I am giving up and waiting for my 991GT3.

The best guide to future prices has to be the price of earlier 996 and 997 GT3s.

A decent spec RS was sold by an OPC recently for just over £86k, but then the new GT3 was released PDK only...

I know the grey/black car in Edinburgh sold back in Sept once they reduced it, and then I saw it advertised again this week as sold but with same mileage so dismissed it as a mistake...did it go up for sale again? Only problem with car is it has no cage, but the best spec'd one I've ever seen...lovely car!

Sorry to hear about the Redline car...
