Just had a call from my dealer, who are busy doing the first major service on my ZZR1200, to say that they are replacing the cams under warranty as they are apparently heavily pitted. Anybody hazard a guess to the cause? Seems amazing to me that this could have happened after so few miles...

You'd struggle to get me back on a new kwak again. My 6r knackered its camchain tensioner and the gearbox fell to bits in the first 6 months from new.

One day I'll have enough spare cash to buy a 7r to play on but until then I'll stick with me boring 'onda.

Bad luck with the cams though and I hope you get it sorted soon.

Regards,

Mark

Cheeky bastard. If you listed everything that had gone wrong or got bent on your podgy scrambler we wouldn't have any space to discuss anything else...

Heh, heh, how ya doin' Bro?

It was replaced on warranty wasn't it? So no problem. Anyway I hope there's nothing wrong with them, cause when my scrambler gets so podgy that it can't carry me anymore, that's what I'm getting

Someone i know bought a new 1200zzr about 6 months ago.It had a flickering oil light on tickover whilst he was running it in!It turns out the centre main bearing for the crank was not there....missing!One of my good friends owns a Kawasaki dealership here and i often help him out when he's busy. The said bike had a bearing fitted and has run fine since....but it shows mistakes can happen. It was found out the bearings were put in by robot and it must have failed to pick it up.I wonder if there's a bike with a spare bearing floating around inside its casing somewhere!
