Has anyone got an idea of what would the book value is for a private sale on a 4200? It is an 02 with 4,200 miles on the clock, skyhook, etc...but no Sat Nav.

Chap seems to want 40k but that seems a bit steep to me...any advice?

well I'd check out the dealers. There are quite a few 02 4200's one forecourts at the moment for under 40k. probably more than 4k on the clock of them, but not a lot more.

Even better ring up a dealer ans ask what they'll give you for 'your' (insert spec here) 4200.

Take that and add a little to sweeten the deal(depending on how nice you feel) and go haggle.

£ 37.5K for a private sale would be a good deal both ways for a low milage car.

Cambio attracts a £1.5k premium on the whole

Colour combo affects price quite a bit on the dealers forecourts.

What colour combo's are no no's? Not thinking of the weird ones......or is it the other way round you need to buy 'this combo' or 'that combo'?

There is a yellow with green interior advertised somewhere that is, in my book, a definate no-no.

To be honest though all combos will have those who love them even the more obscure, however a dealer needs to turn round a car in less than 12 weeks so they won't offer as much for a more esoteric combo as they haven't got the time to wait for the "one" customer who'll want it - (so they offer it at less money to make it sell quicker).

As a rule silver is losing populaity - though metalic "greys" are getting more popular.

Blues with light interiors are good as is Black with either black or "beige" interior.

Flat Red with Black appears popular though the metallic reds are not.

Green doesn't seem to suit the car very well (cold be that green is a "british" colour)

contrast colour Piping in the interior is a very subjective thing - it can completely ruin the look of the car.

However - If you like a particular combo, then go for it these cars should be about individuality!

Is that why I got my lilac 3200 with salmon interior so cheaply?

Off topic but thought i wouldn't add a new thread because many may have already seen this.
Not too sure about some of the interior change's but the rest look's good and from this review a step in the right direction generally, even though the replacement is probably not far away.

had a good look round the grantura last weekend - the interior changes are fantastic. Not sure about the body add ons, but it does look more 'dangerous' i guess..

Really want to know what the replacement will look like, otherwise sometime soon I'm going to be off to put down a deposit on an Alfa 8C Competizione...
