S3 Fuel Tank

Hi folks,

Now that the weather seems to be improving I'm going to start making an effort to get my 1990 S3 back on the road. I took it off the road last year due to a leaky fuel tank.

As I'm doing this on my driveway any tips on how to best go about removing it would be much appreciated.

I'll also take some pictures as I'm going along for anyone else who wants to know how its done.

Hopefully I can get the tank repaired too!

There is a full "how to" with pictures on my web site at http://www.tvrgit.com starting on 11 November 2012, when I took the tank out to replace the cradle that holds it up (or in my case, the cradle that the tank was holding together).

if the repairs don't work, worth knowing David Gerald make new S tanks.

With the good weather this week I've finally got the tank off.

Doesn't look too bad so I may be able to get in repaired.

Does anyone know of any other suppliers in case I can't?

Radtech do one probably also available from Tim at ACT.

Just happens the owner has his own S.
