Yep. I love the Culture books, and the idea that the Algebraist could have been a trilogy.

I don't go for SF but obviously The Wasp Factory is a stand out novel. I really Complicity too, my kinda story!

terribly sad for him of course, but sad for us that we'll not get any more Culture novels

I can recommend his non-fiction 'Raw Spirit' book for petrolheads and whisky lovers

Terrible news one of my favourite author! Use of weapons is one of my favourite books he wrote, the Culture series is just so good. Loved his normal fiction also, top has to be The wasp factory!

I am really sad about this - I love the culture series and I think he probably has many more books left in him.
