I need a few bits blanking and welding on my fuel tank, any one here do this for beer tokens?

It's quite dangerous welding fuel tanks, they have to be properly cleaned and then all fumes have to be purged out so the tank doesn't explode when it is welded.

I've always been told to fill them up with water

You might have more luck on the mig welding forums. Some local guys on there set up for tig as well.

Wash it out with soapy water several times and then before welding connect a pipe to the exhaust of a car and run it into the tank then leave the engine running for several minutes, the car exhaust fumes will purge out any remaining petrol vapours.
