I also heartily recommend Promax. Been using them for 7 years or so and they've always been fantastic

Deutsch-Tech 01908 579229

Unit 6 Canons Road
Canons Industrial Estate,
Old Wolververton.
Milton Keynes
MK12 5TL

Ex-Silverstone Porsche technicians

They have done about 2.5K worth of work for me over the last year, and they are a Performance Friction stockist, so you can have some upgraded pads if you fancy them.

Nothing wrong with Promax or Back draft Motorsport(Very good and based in Bletchley) but I use the Deutsch lads.

The guys at Dove House Motors also seem a good bunch and their head mechanic was at various OPCs including Silverstone.

Wouldn't the warranty be at risk with any specialist? Most PCs offer discounts for PCGB or Tipec membership, lower rates for older models, and are open to "negotiation" if you're a regular customer.

Is it worth it for a set of brake pads?

You're spoil for choice in the area! I've used both ProMAX, Backdraft and more recently Deutsche Tech. Slightly further afield are Auto 2000 in Kemptson, RPM Technik near Cheddington and Newbridge Motorsport out towards Buckingham.

Seconded, they looked after my 968 Sport very well and have expertise/experience of the modern and exotic stuff (The Owner has a 993RS CS)

Porsche work is done at £65/hr+vat and Tony will always look at different ways of achieving what you need to (different parts suppliers, repair rather than replace and preventative maintenance programmes)

Any particular reason you didn't ask them to rebuild your turbo's engine ?.

I wish they had been around at the time, but unfortunately he was only a parts supplier in 2005 when the turbo blew. I did buy a new turbo, maf kit and head gasket from him and he sent me to his preferred installer to have all the work done.

Shortly afterwards he teamed up with Andy & Roger and the Promax service centre was born who I have used ever since. They are currently giving my 210,000 mile S2 a head refresh and changing the gasket, first time the engine has been open in 24 years and looks great biggrin

Took my 993 to Promax for a quote on some work...They were to call me by the end of that week...That was over 3 years ago.
I went to Fearnsport and haven't looked back

The Deutsch-Tech chaps are having an open house on Saturday 11th May 12.00hrs -16.00hrs

Also making an appearance will be a team from Prestige Performance Centre GB, who apart from bring lots of Products with them, have also threatened to bring one of their touring cars.

If your daily runner is BMW the D-T lads specialize in Porsche, BMW & Mini.

Beats going shopping with the wife, DIY are gardening.

Shame I can't make that - even though I've been there twice before.
