Want to get something just to shove in my pocket for the skiing trip. Usually just use the camera on the phone as I won't take my DSLR and my wife's Lumix is actually too big.

Any suggestions on what t spend around £50 on?

Out of interest, what's wrong with the phone? £50 won't get you much better.... Or much worse, depending on the phone.

Well, I assume that a dedicated camera will have better technology than a phone - which is Galaxy S2. Or S3, or HTC. I wanted something with a lens cover, and optical zoom too.

The Canon Powershot at £70 looked interesting.
