My coolant is dropping and quite significantly too, like I topped up the expansion tank yesterday and still put another litre in this morning! But...I'm buggered if I can see where it's going. I went out for a little spin this morning to get the engine up to temperature, came home and opened the clams...no signs of water anywhere. Any ideas? (I know your gonna tell me to take the floor off!)
My money would be the rad. My garage did a pressure test when I had this problem and thought it was the head. Had that done with some upgrades still leaked. Had the rad re-cored and that cured it for 8 months. Standard rad replaced with Pro Alloy and replaced all hoses, so far so good. If it is the rad, bite the bullet and go for the Pro Alloy IMHO

I had a similar issue on a US model. On our cars the hoses for the heater core are behind the door that holds the fuses. One of them was leaking and I never saw it because the door kept it from seeping through the carpet. Somehow the coolant made its way out of the car, but never created a puddle underneath.
Check your heater control valve as well... See if you lose the same amount with the heat on / off..
