Am I Mad ?????

Are you going to regret this in the winter???
Also the Aircon on mine works fine. It had a bit of problem at the weekend when it froze a bit but this was because I have not used the heater since filling with antifreeze. Now the coolant has gone through the aircon works great. Hope to see some of you this weekend around Basingstoke

Are you coming along to the Pie and Drive then, blue?
No, not with the full screen option and the full weather gear (Aero screen to be used most of the time but wife insisted on some kind of compromise)
Yes I am going to be at Donnington & Gaydon.
Yes I am going on the Pie & Drive II (With a bloody great "FOR SALE" sign)
£54,995 - Take a look at the advert in Pistonheads section.

No you are not mad despite what they say. I was shocked to see you are selling but now I understand.
I too was tempted by a Can Am but would not sell my Ultima as it took so long to build. I will just have to save up.
But but only 2500 miles in 3 months!! I did that last week; France, Belgium, Luxomberg, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and back through France. Stelvio Pass included, what a pig of a road. Who says an Ultima cannot be a touring car. More in a future issue of Ultimatum.....

l'm fine thanks; I trust you are too.
No overheating l'm pleased to say. I fitted the aluminium bottle but also a high pressure cap, figuring that will sort things out. It did. No water came out of the pressure cap, instead it escaped at the heater above the passenger's feet. Clever way of automatically telling the driver as the complaints of soggy legs from the passenger become more vociferous.
Then in Luxomberg the alternator bolt snapped and l had to use the tow rope to hold the alternator away from the engine pully wheel. Whilst in this state and looking for a garage and hotel, a pin in the gear linkage fell out as l was performing a 3 point turn in the middle of a dual carriageway.
But no it didn't overheat.
A note for those not in the know, Paul and l both overheated in unison in a Le Mans traffic jam in June as tick over revs were set too high. Silly us. Still we were next to a bar...

Were you running the uprated rad or the standard one?
Btw. Update on the site with loads of gearbox info. www.ultima-gtr.info

Stig - The uprated rads with full boxing in!!! It was very hot and we were sat in traffic for nearly an hour with both our tick overs set about 250rpm to high!
As Ultiman said though, over heating in Le Mans has it's benefits. We were about 10 paces away from a very nice little bar. Able to watch some very nice exotica go past, and some of the cars weren't bad either.

Who makes the uprated rads. I had trouble with mine running hot all last season. I ended up with 3 oil coolers and more holes in the bodywork than a Swiss cheese.
I only (finally) cured it when I got an ally rad from Alan Docking. A very nice man, who knows how to put an efficient rad together.
