Think it was more like 2k not including labour of course.

But they were bloody lucky with that gearbox!

Ok tks Molly. If you included labour they'd lose every time!

You do realise the buyers are all staff or friends of staff right? Its total TV fluff I'm afraid.

One can only speculate on the reasons for the OPs question. But yes, they were lucky with that gearbox! I wonder if Edd would have stripped the bugger down and rebuilt it otherwise?!

Still one of my fave TV progs though.

No they're not (not always anyway). In fact the guy that bought the mustang fastback is on pistonheads.

My reason for asking was purely that I couldn't remember after discussing it with a friend . Nothing more than that!!!!

Also I know someone that bought a Fiat Barchetta some years back from them and he definately didn't work for them though maybe some are staged

Eh, not quite. I'm sure Brewer came out and said the buyers were not real.

Have you ever seen someone buy a car like they do on the show?

There is a wheeler dealers thread in the tv section but I am more sure than you that Brewer didn't say that. Also the deals are done off camera and without Mike Brewers involvement then they film the little piece for the show.

So the folk that are on the TV aren't those buying the cars, they're stand ins?

I believe they do try and sell the car, but if it isn't sold in a reasonably sensible amount of time, then they stooge it. Let's face it - they are hardly going to put an episode on ice for six months because they cant end it are they? And if they said "well, we couldn't sell it in the end" it wouldn't really be 'Wheeler Dealers' would it? It would be more, well, "Mike and Edds random car show"...
