Aerial drone video of Tynemouth Castle and Priory

We just got our new aerial photography / video rig finished and took it for a test flight over Tynemouth Castle in the North East. I made a little edit and thought I'd share it on here.

Just done one myself of the Angel of the North.

Cheers, the equipment we use is mostly home built - you normally buy a frame, then add all of the motors, speed controllers, 'brain' etc youself, so it does take a great deal of understanding, patience and time to get it right. We started off with homebuilt wooden tricopters which were completely built from scratch.

Thanks! I watched yours - not bad for a first video. Do you fly FPV? The Phantoms are great little things -the close up stuff on our above video was done with one.
We also filmed the Angel from homebuilt tricopters last summer and the footage is on this video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTySwBqFCn4&hd=1 (also has some nice car content)

What set up are you guys using. I've got a Drone but due to the weather I haven't had much time to use it, are you using a GoPro or the camera in the Drone (if it's an AR Drine)

Have a look at our website - www.overandabovephotography.co.uk and you can see what equipment we're using - we have about 6 different sized quads, tricopters, wings, planes etc - the parrot AR drones are a lot more basic than the stuff we build. The above video was filmed with a large homebuilt quad with stabilised camera gimbal and Sony NEX5N DSLR camera.

Well, not in the Priory itself heh, but about a mile away towards Cullercoats. Just been looking at your website, now that's the kind of job I wish my career advisor had told me about in high school ;-)

I've not got any FPV equipment yet but will be looking to get some in the near future.

Phantoms are great, really easy to fly, I hoping to move on to larger stuff once I have mastered this one.

Good luck to you; I think you posted in the other thread a few weeks back about our video of the R32 sliding around on the snow when you had first got the Phantom. Just practice in Atti mode rather than relying on GPS mode, and master flying towards yourself. I'll subscribe to your channel and good luck with the flying.

As fun and easy as it seems, it can be a very dangerous hobby - if you don't mind a bit of blood then watch this video of when I got a wing launch wrong and got a propeller embedded in my finger (and a shattered bone!) Not good.
