I've managed to destroy two of the drive shaft torx bolts.

Does anyone happen to have the details of what they are, pitch etc or are they a ford item only, if a ford item only does anyone have the part number?

Or......

If anyone has a couple lying around and your wondering what to do with them smile

Thank you in advance.

I think I've found some on ebay?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sierra-Cosworth-Rear-Dri...

Can anyone confirm if M8 are the right size? For some reason I thought they we an odd imperial size?

Cheers

They are an imperial size, don't use a metric tool on it.

Best way, long extension through the wheelarch with an impact drill.

You can borrow my kit if you're near.

Thanks for the offer.

They are all undone and out. I just damaged beyond repair a couple getting them out so need to find some replacement bolts.

Cheers

I'd agree with M8.

When I changed my Cv joints 3 had Torx bolts and the other normal cap heads (Allen key). I bought or scrounged some extra Torx from CV supplier so have 3 of the Cap heads "spare", others chewed up when un-doing.

at least I think that's what they are, 80mm total (50 shank and 30 thread)

I bought mine from my local Ford dealer a year or so ago. Standard Ford part I think.

Please tell me you're working on your Chimaera and you started your topic in this forum by mistake... Saying you broke some bolts would sound a lot better than "I've destroyed a bit more of Longers' car"!!

Thank for the confirmation of size and the offer Mike. I've managed to get hold of a couple today so should be OK.

Excellent news. Let's hope it's not like flat packed furniture where you end up with a "finished" item and some "spare" bits... wink
