944 Cab advice
Discussion
First post since joining a while ago and promise this post is asking for opinions and advice and not an advert.
Thinking of selling my 944 Cab this year but she needs a new roof, as I believe it's original with a few small outer tear marks and a worn rear screen plus the hood mech is only working manually.
Before and during my ownership the car has had a fortune spent on the engine, belts, brakes, fuel and brake lines etc.(By Hartech), plus bodywork, new paint and alloys so everything else is now mint.
So my question is ....... Is it worth spending the money on a new roof? or selling the car as she is now and clearly stating that the roof is tired and electric not working but the rest of the car is in excellent condition?
Or in other words is it worth spending more money and then hope to get a good return as the whole car will now be mint or sell as it is?
New roof has been quoted at approx £900 inc fitting & VAT .... cost to fix electrics unknown.
Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated?

I'd say that if the car is otherwise near-perfect it would devalue it more than a grand leaving the roof. Particularly the electrical opening as that's an unknown fault that people would be put off by but I'd be surprised if it wasn't an easy fix by a specialist.
Given the description it must be one of the best cabs out there, so should be top money. Buyers at that level are rare, and fussy, so if you're selling it as the best it really can't have such an obviously bad roof IMO.
