Porsche S Bike

Guys, hoping for some thoughts from fellow PH guys.

I currently commute on a single speed genesis day one, but thinking of changing.

However, putting aside the fact its got a porsche logo on the frame, whats the true value of this bike, with the groupset brakes and frame spec, whats its true value if it said, specialized or trek on the frame.

£1500 absolute tops......

Maybe £1600-1700. Alfine 11-speed groupset £500 (say £600 for belt drive), frameset £400, brakes £150, wheels £200, finishing kit £250, build costs. Certainly you could build a hub-geared commuter for less than that, and a normal derailleur-geared flat bar bike with an alloy frame and carbon fork can be bought new, assembled, for under a grand. A Charge Mixer 8 (hub-geared steelie) is about £800.

Personally i think its overpriced, you can get very good Giant for a 1/3 of that price.

It's your choice though, if you like the porche one get. Or get the giant and get some porche stickers on eBay!

Or buy the porsche one cheaper than the giant and stick some giant stickers on it

The fact its got porsche on the side is the biggest thing putting me off!

Had a little look at this last week when I was in the local dealership, I could not believe how heavy the thing was!

Belt drive and 11-so Alfine aside, there's NOTHING on that bike that warrants that price tag. Apart from the stickers of course.

I am sorry i maybe wasnt clear in my original post, i would not be stupid enough to buy it at retail, but i wanted to ge an idea of the true value to compare it against other brands, as the one that my local porsche dealer is selling for £899.

Its my size and the only one left.

Decided against it as i love my genesis and dont need this new bike. But i thought it looked cool.

Looks like for £899 its not too bad price wise.

The bike is sold with pedals (therefore a complete bike), but doesn't have pedal reflectors, nor front/rear reflectors or a bell. Therefore from a purely legal POV it's not road legal. Porsche GB covering their arse.
