The contraflow on the M3 has been perfectly smooth running for the last week or so, but people broke down in front of me in the contraflow both on the way to and from work today.

Why can't people maintain their damned cars??

IMO The free recovery should not be free, but a mandatory £100 charge. Maybe then people who can't be arsed to have their Frenchie piece of s**t serviced would stay the hell off the motorway

Maybe it's just something the Frenchies build-in to really annoy us Brits? A kind of hot-day-contraflow-detector.

On the way to Dover for the Le Mans trip the other week, I was trundling through the M11 Stansted roadworks when the Rover 45 in front of me pulled over between the cones. I initially thought that he had overheated but couldn't see any smoke or steam etc. Then the driver leapt out, ran to the hard shoulder, climbed over the fence into the bushes and went for a Pee.

Yeah - funny really, poor hot weather running used to be a Vauxhall speciality - Citroen must have jumped at the chance to fill that slot when Vauxhall finally got their shit together..

In all fairness, as I said earlier, the traffic movement through that contraflow is mostly fine, until someone breaks down.

If they saved room for a hard shoulder, there'd only be space for 2 lanes and there'd be tailbacks whilst everyone jockeyed for position every morning.. so on aggregate, it's the right decision IMO - I was just pretty p***ed off that it happened twice in one day..

What are the legal implications of pelting people's broken cars with eggs as you crawl past?
