New tyres keep deflating
Discussion
My wife recently bought and had fitted 2 new front tyres from a Mine dealer.
However, both seem to have slow punctures. She's taken the car to kwik fit and they've said there's nothing wrong with the tyres, but it might be the seal.
Couple of questions:
1. Should this have been picked up earlier by the tyre pressure sensor?
2. Should she take it back to mini and ask them to fix for free?
3. Will the tyres have been damaged by driving on them when they've been deflating
Sorry for all the questions, I'm lucky enough to have a company car, so I don't usually have to get involved with these things, car just goes to the dealer and get's fixed.

is this a first generation mini? 2001-2006 (2008 for shoftops)
the tpms on these do not directly monitor pressure, they monitor the tyre size changes by comparing wheel speeds.
a tyre that deflates very slowly will not be detected
i usually find new tyres need topping up a couple of times in the first few weeks before they seem fully settled and sealed, and i think it happens more/worse in winter. I would let the dealers know so you have informed them, they will probably say see if it happens again then bring it in.
if they are run-flats and they were run totally flat or very low they may have been damaged, but it depends on how flat and for how long, there is a figure that gets quoted sometimes as what is considered running flat, from memory i think it is around 0.7-0.8 bar but couldn't say for sure.

The normal solution is to refit the tyer this should be done free by the people who fitted them (Had the same on a diffrent car). The sould have had a good look first time round so it should not be wheel damige. If they used the old valves or the new ons are duff that could also be the problem but this is normaly east to see and dose not happen a lot.
