Has anyone a link to an idiots guide to fitting a new hood to a 996 . Has anyone had a go, how easy? I've searched on tiinter web but can't seem to find anything. Usually there's someone who has done it with pictures.

Thank you

Certainly not a how to post but it would appear the mobile fitter I had to fit my roof needed an idiots guidefurious

It should only take 3-4 hrs to fit but after 8 hrs of fitting, my new roof had sags, bags, and closure problems.
I drove the car to B.A.S in wales ( the roof manufacturer) where it was in safe hands and the fit and operation of the roof was fantastic and as good as factory.
I would advise getting it done properly, although the fabric is pre cut and wired so it really is only a mechanical job smash

I replaced my roof because the rear window had become un bonded so decided to go for a glass rear screen upgrade as well as a brave colour change. Hope yours goes well smile

It looks superb with the red roof - I commend your decision to change colour.

Thanks for the comments, maybe its a bit marmite to some but I like it.
Its a 2000 car and I could not put up with the plastic window any longer, it really dates the car and at this age most plastic windows are past there best.
The glass screen is a lot narrower than the original so you loose some rear view but to be honest looking through glass is 100% better than an old piece of plastic .

I like the colour with the body shade you have. I'm always amazed how long Porsche took to get round to glass windows in the hoods. Mine has glass being a 2004 car, but people like Saab had glass windows in hoods years before Porche...
