If you can get the headlight out then you have done the hardest bit. I put in Ring Xenonmax in mine and they were noticeably brighter. I would change both and keep the old ones as spares.

Watch the plug at the rear. The plastic tray can become brittle and snap where the plug connector goes if the headlight and connector are not totally lined up.. If it does, don't worry. I have a spare one you can buy from me lol but in all seriousness, just cut off the offending part of the headlight tray and re-insert the plug by hand before sliding in the headlight.

I get very confused by the 90% brighter claims....

Looking at the OSRAM site http://www.osram.com/osram_com/products/lamps/auto... , all of the bulbs seem to be 1500 lumens give or take a handful. Their claim seems to be based on the "better" bulbs having smaller elements that give a more defined spread of light and hence "more light on the road".

However the downside is that service life is reduced from 1100 hours for the ultra long life bulb to 550 hours for the OEM bulb to 250 hours for the 90% brighter Night Buster. Bearing mind that these "brighter bulbs" cost more, last less time and are more likely to fail on you when you need them most, I don't see the advantage. Just to be clear, I am comparing the 64210XXXX variants which are H7 bulbs.

I have Nightbreaker Plus in both my cars and would happily buy again. They're not expensive.

Good to know PHers take lights seriosly, about 20% of muppets locally have very few lights working of any description, how they see in the dark is a mystery unless they are all carrot addicts!!!

I've changed my bulbs for some of those super-duper 1 million times brighter ones - can't tell any difference.
