997.2 PCM 3 Unmute on startup

I normally have my PCM always on, for maps, nav, info, etc. If the radio/ipod/cd sound is muted,then I switch off the engine and leave the car, when I next return to the car and switch the ignition on I would hope that it would remember it was muted and remain muted. Instead I get blearing music.

Is there any way to enable this?

Or if it cannot remember mute status can you set it up so it always starts muted?
