Spyker showed their new concept B6 Venator at Geneva motorshow saying it would be a direct competitor to the 991S. Looking at the stats I think Porsche will have the edge on performance, but omg what does it look good. Price indication GBP 100k....

To me it just looks like another indulgent 2-seater.

If it doesn't have usable rear seats it's not really an alternative to the 991. 2+2 is the 911's USP.

Do people buy the car for the back seats? They look pretty useless to me

I think the lack of seats would be the last reason why you wouldn't choose the Spyker but for me there are others, not least the fact that you never know how long Spyker will be around.

Buying the 991S allowed me sell another car as it meant the kids could go in the car. Very practical!

Generalising, but the 911's enduring success owes a lot to it's practicality - compact dimensions, decent boot/storage, reasonable economy, day-to-day usability, occasional rear seats.....

So, when rivals say they have a direct competitor to the 911, they need to match these criteria IMO, and few ever have.
