DAB Now an option?

Just had a quick look at the Cayman Configurator and DAB now listed as an option. Anyone else got his ordered or installed?

My Cayman S has a build slot this week....wonder if I will be able to catch it and add that to it.

It's now available across all Porsche models, and could be standard as soon as 2014 model year.

I think you want to add it if all possible for resale if nothing else.

Any DAB purchased post 2007 can be updated to receive DAB+ via a firmware upgrade. The Porsche units fall into this category.

Forgot to say mines a 991 and its not showing as an option on the configurator as yet but I have mailed OPC but prob too late anyway. Bugger!

OPC not open today????????? Will find out tomorrow. Probably too late but just wish it was available on the config when I specced the car

Would love to add DAB to the PCM 3.0 in my Cayman S... Anyone know if it will be possible to retrofit this option? Cheers!

Where does the DAB get its internet connection from? Does it have its own SIM and internet connection, or does it use you mobile phone / bluetooth? Thanks for any insight. (I quite like listening to Bluegrass, even though I live in the UK!)

DAB doesn't need the internet, it's terrestrial radio.
I'm glad Porsche have caught up with the rest of the car industry.

Don't worry if you can't add DAB on to your build slot, you can simply brag to other Porsche owners that yours is the last of the true analogue (radio) cars before they all went digital & soft.

As I thought...too late for me :-( car is in production and should be here for the 27th (hopfully the snow will be gone by then!!)

It's on for the "2014" model year - from April production I believe, but unfortunately on the Boxster I've ordered; the colour I want (Aqua blue) is a "2013" MY Colour. So I can have the new colour of Sapphire Blue and the the DAB; or Aqua Blue and no DAB - both are due to be produced in April.

Of course I've gone for the colour I want (and have seen in the flesh) and saved £324!

all new caymans are 2014 model year.well the ones on display are at opc so i assume they all will be!

I am too late for this option as well. Car in production in the next seven days but obsolete already!
