Bike Storage

I've just moved into a flat so my room has become the room for bike storage too, does anyone use those stacker storage poles and do they work or are there other options? The flat is rented so I can't use anything that damages the walls unfortunately.

there are hangers for the back of doors (depends on room configuration) else put the bike where the telly is and just look at it in the evenings from 7-10pm, when there is naff all on anyway !!



The picture below is a classic example of the wrong room configuration for it.... have a look !!

I've got a setup a bit like what I think you're thinking of. It's from Ikea and works perfectly for storing three bikes with a shelf to put things on, a hanger to hang things off (surprisingly!) and space underneath to store tools and spares. Took a bit of time to get it all set up how I wanted, but I'm really happy with it. Feels secure despite not being screwed into the ceiling (I believe this is not recommended, but as long as the ceiling is solid enough to be able to properly wedge it into, I don't think it's a problem).

That's the configuration of my room so that's a no go. That ikea thing looks good, how sturdy is it? I obviously don't want any of my bikes falling onto any other and can't drill holes in the ceiling or walls.

Once storage is sorted, I can get onto bike number 5

I'm pretty comfortable with it. Not tried to make it fall over, but don't have any concerns that it will of its own accord.

I have a Minoura that will hold 2 bikes against a wall or 4 bikes (2 on each side) if you have the space and can live with it in the room a bit more



I didn't have a load bearing area to wedge it into so just used a bit of wood to chock it in place and spread the load a bit, the spring tension is high and it hasn't moved a bit since installing it last year
