Hello South Coast PH'ers biggrin

Shot in the dark I know, but does anyone have a de-humidifier they would be able to spare for a few days? A new place im renting has a damp issue, ive done all I can so far, but I think this may be a further step to making it a nicer place to live.

However, until the landlord accepts charges or sorts it out, Im just seeking to see if this will solve the problem, a test as such. If anyone has, happen to throw some beer tokens your way,

Many thanks

Lou

I have a very small one that only suitable for small spaces. Like girlfriends MINI Cooper S when side didn't shut the window and it snowed. I also have cat litter for the same purpose but no cat.

Probably not what you want but let me know if this is of interest

Lou, tell your landlord he's paying for the electricity, they're very expensive to run.For this reason our dehumidifier has been banished to the loft.

Depends what type, desiccant which are the cheap to buy are expensive to run, the type with an airconditioning unit in them are much cheaper to run but more expensive to buy.

Its a pretty big unit, Steve knows more about it. 5 litres yesterday, that was running from 8am till 7pm when we werent home! Thats scary. Its on again today, lets see what happens there.

I have written to my landlord, as he was meant to be making repairs 3 weeks ago according to the letting agent, but no sign of any contact or repair.

So ive been told to write to them, and say that I will be asking to be reimbursed for the power used (although I dont think I can be bothered working it out)

Lou,
Easy way to get the landlords attention: Threaten to with-hold the next rent until he fixes the issue. Or say you are not paying more than 50% of the rent whilst the conditions are sub-standard, as you are having to pay increased electric bills as a result of his/her inaction. All the time you are paying up, they wont be interested, as soon as you stop the flow of funds, then watch their heads appear above the parapet smile
