Hi Peeps,
One of the members on our Ford Zephyr-Modified and Custom site has put forward this great idea of a 70’s revival for all Custom/Modifield Zephyr-Zodiacs's & Old School Fords and more at the Chelsea Cruise on the last Saturday of this coming April and we want to get this out there hoping everyone past & present can turn up, even if you don’t have a Ford classic/custom/hotrod at the minute as the more people the merrier. Hope to see you all there !

Guys if you only do one Cruise this season make it this one, wink see below and pass it on.

Right you lot how about a Chelsea Cruise 70's Revival onslaught Meeting on Saturday April 27th 2013. Meet near the burger stall on Chelsea Bridge or in the park opposite, all Consul Zephyr & Zodiacs plus all Old School Fords and many other makes and models! Also hoping everyone will cruise the original circuit of the Kings Rd etc.
April is normally fair weather and not a lot of other stuff happens this early in the year. We've also heard that the Harris Clan will be in attendance along with Custom Car and Classics Magazine reps. Fancy Dress Optional! biggrin

Abso bloody lutely.

Chelsea cruise has always been open to ALL.

Just don't expect to be the main attraction if you turn up in a Micra/Corsa/Fiestablabla

The Facebook link was just to give you the bigger picture so don't worry about it as its moved on down the page now.
The main thing is getting this out there and passing the word.
Cheers

70's Revival cool does this qualify?Its a 69 model
Bodywork : Rough with signs of of abuse here and there & has been lowered in the last decade.
Interior : Dont want to know think the leather is starting to crack. Smells a bit musty
Engine: Def down on horsepower and may require the odd jump start
Fuel: Normally runs on 90% proof
Insurance: SAGA policy Fully insured against Fire theft & accidental death.
Mot will hopefully run out shortly.
If you see the mother in law she will be in red Jag which doesnt run too bad consideringlaugh

Truthfully we haven't got a clue, but if we go by forum response and feedback then I have to say - we may have created a monster, Don't forget this has gone across other well known forum's as well. Think the organisers were just trying to re-create the good ol days when the Chelsea Cruise was buzzing with people 3 deep down the Kings Rd and surrounding areas. We know Custom Car and another Classics magazine will be there, in fact after after one of the organisers called them to explain the feedback they've had, they even added it to their events page last minute. There will also be a couple of floating cameramen capturing elements of the night for prosperity and once edited these will go on You Tube.

It wasn't about burnouts and loud music back then so didn't attract the wrong attention, plus there is CCTV all round that area that could focus on the fillings in your teeth! so be careful out there and enjoy the night thumbup

can you post some of the links or mail me?
I missed these in my youth but would be definitely up for popping down in one of mine.
Neither are classics, but what hopefully will still fit in.
Link was only to show the origins of the idea so no real difference to the original promo above although I have an update next post. Cheers.

Was up the Chelsea Cruise last night and managed to drive straight into the park car park with ease and that was about 8pm. Need to watch for speed bumps in the park as two are higher than the others as I found out. Gates officially close at 22:30 and cctv everywhere. Spoke to Pete boss of the burger bar (nice chap) and even he's excited and allowed us to stick flyers on his bar/hut. He also advised that if you park up before 19:00 anywhere along there - you will get a fine via cctv - BE WARNED.

What was great was everyone we handed these flyers to already knew about it via the forums! One bloke has cancelled his trip to Spain and changed his holiday just to be there, another is gonna put a flyer up the ACE Cafe. Feedback was great with peeps very excited and we even met the 'Raleigh Choppers' club with their pure 70's machinery up there and they want to come also....why not its all 70's. thumbup
