Hello again, I have been away so long I had forgotten both a username and password - I am such a dullard!!

Anyway, just to reintroduce myself. Hi I am Andy of Wiltshire and have for the last 10 years owned a Lhd Black Porsche 964 C2 (C2 YYY) and own had the pleasure of meeting the likes of Melv at the Porsche Swindon for a little GTG.

As for the car, since in my ownership it has had a few bit minor mods including:-

Ruf Suspension
Ruf Aerospack and front splitter
Ruf 18" Speedline Wheels
Ruf 3rd Stage Exhaust
Ruf ECU Chip
CarGraphics Cup Pipe
Cargraphics Strut Brace
9M Cat ByPass

All very nice and generating 293bhp

And now my question.

Following my last MOT, I was informed that the oil leak - somewhere around Number 2 Cylinder had become a bit worse (it like most 964 had always weeped a bit) and that the time had finally come for a bit of rebuild. I alway knew this day was coming especially as the car is nearly 23 years old and have decided to let Mike at MR Performance work his magic. However..........

Whilst the engine is out should I also get the clutch replaced and if so is it worth putting a RS clutch in??

Thoughts please.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

It's q no brainer to get a new clutch fitted whilst you're in there in my opinion.

I've had an RS clutch and flywheel fitted in my C2 for about 60,000km now an love it. The only time I have issues with it are when I have the air con on, the engine can stall sometimes. I think the extra resistence from the compressor does this as if I turn the air con off, I have no issues with stalling.

RS clutch definitely beneficial, just be aware the gearbox will be noisier at tickover when it's hot.
