Just a heads up that there have been a couple of speed limit changes in the last couple of weeks near me.

Moorgreen, the road that goes past the wagon ang horses pub and Ruben shaws garden centre has been dropped from a 40 to a 30.

Annesley bypass has been dropped from 70 to 50.

On each of these roads there hasn't been any signes saying "new speed limit now inforce" so keep em peeled, I also followed the scamera van up to Moorgreen the morning after the change.

Noticed these while out and about today. The one in Moorgreen I can kinda understand with the blind entrance/exit to Ruben Shaw's on the bend. The one on the Annesley by-pass is wholly unnecessary - the idiots who don't know how to drive will still end up in the field and those who do will just be a target for revenue generation. grumpy

It looks like it's only been dropped going away from Hucknall, so that is no doubt the cause. I suspect that those that hit the trees/fields/fences/hedges are doing a bit more than the NSL.

Annesley bypass has been dropped from 70 to 50.

Kill me now !!!

There will be no point in having a decent car soon.

A614 has average speed cameras all the way up it. Oxton bypass, cameras.

I reckon they should put average cameras all round Moorgreen just to top it off.

It is only in the Hucknall-Annesley direction, and there are no safe places to park a camera van so unless plod is behind you in a car there's no real difference in my book. driving

Plod once gave me a massive bking at the lights at the bottom of the bypass.

I was er..... going a bit quick down the hill biggrin

He said he did 140 to catch me but wasn't going quick enough to record my speed?

I've grown up since then !

It was a lot quicker before the lights. rotate
Once passed a traffic car sitting in the layby, I was side by side with a Griff, foot flat to the floor at the time, with a TVR S close behind, before the installation of the lights there was no way he'd have been able to catch us or guess whih way we went at the island, other than the fact that 3 TVR's aren't exactly 'common' and mine lived on the drive on a main road in Hucknall at the time. paperbag

Hahaha !

That was always the test drive route when you'd bought a new car for us back in the day.

Up and over J27, down the bypass, back up the twisty bit past the Hall and over J27 again.

I've got some good in car footage from when I had my 348 but I won't be sharing the link on here !!! judge

Forms part of my Sunday run too, but fortunately in the Annesley to Hucknall direction.

And anyone who doubts that the average speed cameras in Annesley work, I know someone who was caught by them the other day.

Git. hehe

To be fair it was the Annesley-Hucknall side I binned it. On the straight. grumpy In my defence, it was trying to go down the rapids like a canoe. Half way there being fibreglass I guess. silly

Mind you, I feel better about it after reading about this similar incident...

Spring Lane from Plains Road, Mapperley to Lambley village now 40mph.

Significant numbers of vehicles unable to remain on the road at NSL brought this about.

Standing water is my biggest fear.......ok in the 4 wheel drives, but not so funny in the Chimaera...

Moving to Newark from E Stanglia (as the weatherforecasters call Norfolk) soon, so two threads of advice please:

1. Good roads for a Sunday errr drive.
2. Nasty speed scameras to avoid.

I was born and had family until recently in Nottingham, so know the ring road and A610 ones.
