Help with my first porsche!

Hi all,would like some help here with my first porsche purchase.Me and my wife decides to enjoy the summer this year with some nice ride trough the Alps,Italy and probably Croatia and what could be more nice than to do that in a 2 seater convertible car?!We ended up chosing between slk,z4 and boxter 987.Went to a local dealer and tested the z4 and today went to another dealer to test the boxter.We couldn't have it on the road due to weather and parking reason but...only starting the car just makes me forget about z4 or slk!This car is something real..can i say i have just forget about my wife while i was revving the boxter?!
Now i'm here and i need your help..if i'm not asking to much!got few simple question for the start
1.Does 987 boxter 2005 onwords have engine problem?if so did it happen to many owners?
2.Wich one should i chose 2.7 engine or 3.2?
3.Should i take extra insurance just in case something go wrong?(we are only planning to keep the car few month)
4.How's the mpg figure in real life on 3.2 engine?
