Afternoon all,

Got an odd fault on a R107 post '85 facelift model. The passenger side door won't unlock properly on the remote, the catch to the left of the interior door handle (when you're facing it) won't open properly - when you unlock via the remote it opens a little then shuts itself as though it's sticking ( you can hear the central locking making the wirring noise and re-shut).

However, when using the key it's fine! I've stripped off both door cards and the passenger side with the fault looks the same as the drivers side. I know these cars CL is vacuum fed but surely it wouldn't work on both the remote and key if that was the issue - or am I mis-understanding??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Had a 107 but no remote locking. The system ism vacuum fed so not sure how this could be happening.. unless the actuator controlled by the fob is weak? Turning the key might put some energy in system, enough to make the system work. But pure speculation. For 107s the best site by far is Benzworld. The guys on that forum are amazingly helpful and enthusiastic. If you have a 107 you should be on there in any case!

Thanks for your reply. When you say it isn't vacuum fed I understood it was, there's a pump in the boot on the drivers side and you can hear it pumping, and there are yellow tubes running from and to it and into the actuators on both doors?

Thanks for suggestion re benzworld, I shall join, appreciate your suggestions.

That does look the item inside the door, I'm amazed Maplin do such a thing.

Many thanks for the suggestion and post.

No, "ism" was supposed to mean "is"

I see! Watching the actuators when you turn the key the one on the drivers door doesn't move at all, it's seemingly sticking, on the passenger door it goes down but not up, as though it doesn't have the energy to do so.

Sounds like you have a vac leak somewhere....start blanking off pipes until you trace the leak..

Steve - many thanks for the reply, I'm agreeing with you on this, the only issue is that it works on the key without issues, and I can hear the pump working OK.

Daft question maybe but you say start blanking off pipes, do you mean detach them and cover the ends to see the result?

Thanks
