I've never really thought about it before, but after riding a fazer, then riding a small yam tzr,it brought back how much fun small 2 strokes are !!

Up and down the box more, the scream, the lightness, the feeling your ringing its neck, getting the maximum out of it,felt more exciting than hooring it into a corner and backing off on a bigger bike...

So after much thought on what big bike to buy next ( fazer is a practice ish bike to start off with ) I'm now faced with the dilema of something like an aprilia rs250 thrown into the mix,you don't have the big gonads walking down the street knowing you own a big bike ( doesnt apply to you Anna ) , but the 250's etc look good as well as go good, what do you peeps with experience think ?

cheers,
Wayne.

Since the girlfriend has moved on to a big bike license, She rides my ZX6R quite often. Which means I get to ride her Honda CD200 Benly. I do give her a bit of stick about it but, It is fun to ride.

You can hold the throttle wide open going into a corner where I would normally be shitting myself thinking am I going to fast/will I make it.

Also I have scraped the pegs more on the CD200 than on the ZX6R.

Maybe I just ride like a granny!!!!!!

small bikes are the way forward. ive ridden allsorts and my best laughs have always been on small bikes, mainly 125's. theres no better feeling than getting into the twisty bits and overtaking some pie eater on his zx9r round the outside. fair enough your gonna get wasted the first straight you get to, but any monkey can go fast in a straight line. I highly recomend 125 trail bikes then when you get carried away and take to the grass youve got a better chance of saving it, and even if you do bin it theres no £400 fairing to replace. chances of geting done for speeding are higly reduced as well!

I used to ride a RD350LC (pre power-valve) ... and let me tell ya, it was sooo much fun! I really enjoyed creaming a CBR600 round some local twisty lanes. Then there were 3rd gear wheelies coming off round-a-bouts. It was such behaviour that led my girlfriend to knick-name me "Sir Psycho"!!

I used to love my old DT125. you could really abuse it, and not have to worry about throwing £4-5000 worth of machinery down the road / track.
im not saying the XRV750 isnt fun though

Watched a guy on a KTM 450 yesterday.

It didn't half pull away from the lights and took some keeping up with at first.

Maybe smaller is more fun!

I have owned an NS 125F, NS 125R, RD 350LC, KR1(not s)and an RGV 250P. Loved em all. They really are all about going banzaii on. The feeling my KR1 gave when it hit the 7000 rpm power band made me sqeal like a stuck pig. And i've owned a 916 Duke and new R1.
I remember going for a top speed run once, and hit 138 units Not bad for 249cc of parallel twin.
Shame on the government and environmentalists for bringing about their demise

I would love to find a mint low mileage cared for KR1...probably don't exist

I find riding a slow bike fast beats riding a fast bike slow, our roads are mostly not designed for 160MPH lady boy crotch rockets
