S Club 2012 in Sprint?
Discussion
Hi everyone
I know a lot of you reading this attended SCH12 at Thoresby last year and may have noticed an article has not yet appeared in Sprint. That is because Sprint is written by us, the members, and nothing has been sent to the editor yet!
I have therefore offered to put some words together so that our great cars get the exposure they deserve.
But I have a problem... unlike some other years when I've been heavily invloved in organising the event, in 2012 I simply drove to Thoresby with a small group of other cars and spent a couple of hours relaxing in the TVR area. To help me create a reasonable article I'd be very grateful if as many of you as possible could send a few words / paragraphs (...pages?!) and any photo's you may have which could be used. I'll then co-ordinate whatever I receive and fill in the gaps with my own recollections.
I know a lot of you love the S Club events and, by your own admission, are not keen or able to get involved in the organising but this is your chance to contribute! Many of you write loads in these forums and it will only take a few minutes of your time to send me something
Thanks in anticipation of your help!
Cheers,
L'rs

No problem Ian.
Really thought the S Club joining our usual meets at Thoresby worked well and I for one, really enjoyed the day.
If you want any of the photo's at full res, just email me a list of the numbers and I'll send them through, there was over 157mb of photo's so I just sent them through as large.

For me this was my intro to the S club. We had only just bought the S3C from Stew Mcc, but what a great introduction, nice bunch of folk, found Turbo Tony, whom I used to work for and caught up on a few lost years. Met a a load of folk I will hopefully get to know better on the Alps trip. Myself and Sheri felt most welcome, no snobiness just a keen interest in all things TVR. Sorry no pics.
Cheers Al

A few sound-bite quotes from the award winners of the day would look good.
Don't know if Simon (Donnysoutherner) still loiters since selling his S and "3 Tiv's" DaveM I'm sure was involved in the last minute re-location to Thorseby who might have some "wise words mate" as it was all "for charriddy".
I didn't take many pics and ddnt stay long due to the weather. Can mail them to you Ian if its any help.

Definately the first and most probably the last award I'll ever win and I missed the presentation sheltering from the rain with Stuart in his recently-ish aquired V8s!Anyone gonna be brave and say "lets make it Thoresby again for 2013"?

Best 2.9 S was a well-deserved award, your S is a credit to you Mr Phillpot.Anyone gonna be brave and say "lets make it Thoresby again for 2013"?
Rain? Last Summer? Are you sure Mike? Twas but a tiny bit of moisture on the breeze.

I'd go with Thoresby if there's nowt else happening.
Pity there's no camping though.
Newark Kit Car Show?
No I'm not organising it. Nobody wants to follow me into a field.

Ian, excellent. Great idea and thank you very much, it's greatly appreciated.
I'll add some comment too, I have a very busy March (professional but good things) which I'll tell you about Friday evening which in part is why I have no time.
Obviously, I have no photos, even if I did I wouldn't be able to get them out of the camera!

PS - Use this as an excuse to get those B'st'ds at Sprint to put an S on the front cover!!!!
When I spoke to David Hothersall shortly after the NEC show in January he said you'd been to see him and mentioned this! Don't worry mate, I am going to make it my mission to get plenty of S pics at the Spa Classic and in the mountains during this year's Alps to give us the best chance of getting one on the cover!!AutoAndy said:
Good on you Longers.
I will see what I can dig out for you in the next few days...for now, the Norfolk crew waking with the sun to bring it from the East to S-Club...

Well if that's the quality of your pictures it certainly won't be one of yours on the cover ..... I will see what I can dig out for you in the next few days...for now, the Norfolk crew waking with the sun to bring it from the East to S-Club...
