987 Boxster(S), how expensive to run?
Discussion
Evening,
I'm changing my car in a few months, my head says "Get something with manufacturers warranty", so my short list consists of Mazda3 MPS and the MINI Cooper S in Hatch or Clubman shape. My heart, however, says "Porsche". An early 987 with sub 40,000mi falls in to my budget, mainly 55-plate 2.7s. Now, I have very few outgoings, so I find it ever so tempting to just go with it and enjoy the experience for a year or two, by which time I'm sure I could probably still sell it for little loss and buy either of the other two mentioned above when the time comes to hop onto the property ladder.
My question is, just how costly are these to run?
Are there (m)any big/common faults?
Servicing, is it dear, down either specialist or the OPC route?
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If you are coming to the South Coast breakfast meeting I'll be there with my recent purchase a 2008 RS60 (a glorified 3.4S) and you'd be welcome to come for a blast in it. Haven't had it long enough to work out costs but whatever the cost they are an absolutely superb car and worth every penny.
